  • I had seen on the news the other day that the captain was given shore duty while there was a further investigation. Now, I see (from the news articles) that he has indeed been dismissed, along with the XO.

    It could have been a much worse situation, and fortunately it didn’t result in worse injuries than there were, or even death.
  • Indeed, the sailors are quite lucky nobody was killed. I wonder if the investigators have an idea who threw the cigarette butt which led to the fire, and if that individual will find himself facing criminal charges of some sort.

    How could this happen? Its time to review who the Nay puts in charge of a Nuclear carrier and those aboard that let this continue..Everybody over the side and back on land they don't deserve to serve with dishonor.
