I had seen on the news the other day that the captain was given shore duty while there was a further investigation. Now, I see (from the news articles) that he has indeed been dismissed.

It could have been a much worse situation, and fortunately it didn't result in worse injuries than there were, or even death.

I know the captain has the ultimate responsibility.But it is a damn shame this is being done just for appeasement.
